GivEnergy Safe Shut Down Procedure
Learn how to safely shut down and restart your GivEnergy system. This step-by-step guide explains the correct sequence for isolators, switches, and circuit breakers. For battery-only setups, the first DC isolator for solar panels won’t apply.
For safety, servicing, or in case of an emergency, you may need to shut down your GivEnergy system. Please follow the exact sequence below to safely power down your system.
This procedure applies to all GivEnergy hybrid and AC-coupled inverters, with or without batteries.
🔌 Safe Shut Down Procedure

Switch off the PV DC isolator (if solar is connected)

Label: PV DC Isolator

Colour: Usually black or red

Battery-only systems can skip this step.

Switch off the battery DC isolator

Gen 1 models are a separate isolator next to the unit
Gen 3 models have the isolator built in to the left hand side of the battery

Switch off the AC isolator

Label: Inverter AC Isolator

Location: Wall-mounted near the inverter

Switch off the toggle switch on the inverter

Label: On/Off / Power Switch

Location: Bottom of the GivEnergy inverter

Switch off the circuit breaker(s)

Location: Consumer unit or dedicated PV/battery consumer unit

To restart your GivEnergy system, simply follow the steps above in reverse order.
