Tesla Powerwall Safe Shutdown Procedure
Learn how to safely shut down and restart your Tesla Powerwall system in the correct sequence. This step-by-step guide covers all isolators, switches, and circuit breakers to ensure safe servicing, emergencies, or maintenance.
For safety, servicing, or in case of an emergency, you may need to shut down your Tesla Powerwall system.
This procedure applies to both the Tesla Powerwall 2 and Tesla Powerwall 3.
🔌 Safe Shut Down Procedure

Switch off the main DC isolator for the solar panels

💡 Battery-only systems do not have this step — you can start at Step 2.

Switch off the second DC isolator (right-hand side of the Powerwall)
