Tesla Powerwall Safe Shutdown Procedure

For safety, servicing, or in case of an emergency, you may need to shut down your Tesla Powerwall system.

This procedure applies to both the Tesla Powerwall 2 and Tesla Powerwall 3.

Switch off the main DC isolator for the solar panels
- Label: DC Isolator
- Colour: Black
💡 Battery-only systems do not have this step — you can start at Step 2.
Switch off the second DC isolator (right-hand side of the Powerwall)
- Label: DC Isolator
- Colour: Red
Switch off the AC isolator switch
- Label: Inverter AC Isolator
- Colour: Red
Switch off the toggle switch
- Location: Left-hand side of the Powerwall
Switch off the PV circuit breaker
- Label: Powerwall
- Location: Consumer unit or dedicated PV consumer unit

To start your system back up, follow the steps above in reverse order.
